What a pledge drive is

A pledge drive is a fundraising moment inside your event: a gala, a community dinner, a service or a rally. Each guest promises an amount, and everyone watches the total grow together.

  • A QR code on the tables or the screen opens the pledge page on any phone
  • Amount chips you choose, a goal and your logo
  • A live total for the projector or TV, and an in-app view for your team
  • Mark gifts received as they come in; export a CSV when you're done

Money never passes through EventHubQ

A pledge is a promise, not a payment. You collect gifts directly, through your own donation page, check, cash or bank transfer, and you handle receipts and tax rules. EventHubQ takes no cut.

Who can run one

Faith organizations

Churches, masjids, synagogues, temples and other houses of worship or religious groups.

Registered nonprofits

501(c)(3) charities and other registered nonprofits, with their EIN.

Political campaigns

Candidates and committees registered with the FEC or their state, within EventHubQ policy and campaign-finance law.

Not allowed

Hate groups, anything that harms people, animals or property, fraud or a purpose other than the one stated, impersonation, and anything unlawful, including illegal political contributions. Read Terms §10 and the Acceptable Use Policy.

What you need

  • Your organization's website domain, and an email address on that domain (we send it a 6-digit code)
  • The purpose of the drive, who benefits and how the money will be used
  • The EIN for a nonprofit, or the FEC or state registration ID for a campaign
  • Time for review: 3–5 business days
  • A flat review fee between $0 and $100, set by the EventHubQ team for your application
  • A paid plan (Host or Planner) for the event that runs the drive

The steps

  1. 1ApplyTell us about the organization and the purpose. You can start now, without an account; your answers stay on this device.
  2. 2Verify your emailSign in, choose your event (or create one), and confirm your email on the organization's domain with a 6-digit code.
  3. 3ReviewThe EventHubQ team checks the organization, domain and registration. If a review fee applies, you pay it before review starts.
  4. 4ApprovedYou get an email when the drive is approved, with the reason if it isn't.
  5. 5Turn on pledgesSet a goal and amount chips, print the QR code, and show the live total on a big screen at the event.

Good to know

Does money go through EventHubQ?
No. Pledges are promises. Guests pledge an amount on their phone and you collect the gifts your own way: your donation page, a check, cash or bank transfer. EventHubQ never handles pledged money and takes no cut.
Why is there a review?
Asking people for money in public needs trust. We confirm the organization is real, the email belongs to its domain, and the purpose is lawful before any drive goes live.
What does it cost?
The event needs a paid plan (Host or Planner). The EventHubQ team may ask for a flat review fee between $0 and $100, which is non-refundable once review starts. There is no fee on pledges.
Can guests pledge without an account?
Yes. Guests scan the QR code, pick an amount and pledge, with their name or anonymously. They never need an account.
What if my application isn't approved?
You see the reason in the event's Pledges tab and can apply again with your earlier answers filled in.
